Session 1: Deep Dive into Delayed Durability

Abstract: I am going to introduce you to the one of the three top features of SQL Server 2014. In my previous sessions you have been introduced to In-Memory OLTP and Buffer Pol Extensions. In this session I will be covering Delayed Durability which readily boosts your transaction throughput. I will also be covering a case study of Delayed Durability in comparison with SSDs.

Session 2: This Session will introduce you to powershell and how to use it with SQL Server.

Abstract:

•Introduction to Powershell
•Why use PS and how is it different from CMD?
•First Powershell Command
•Frequently used Powershell Commands or helpers
•Introduction to SMO
•Different ways to Connect to SQL Server from Powershell
•Few Low hanging DBA activities that could be automated
